Summer Fun List
3 Jun
Summer is here and as a Modern Hostess you probably have “little house guests” to entertain. And by “little house guests” I mean your kids that are probably usually at school for most of the day. At times you may find yourself at a loss to stave off the “I’m bored” attitude of summer. How about making a Summer List? Meg over at Whatever has been making a Summer List for years and I love the idea. You must check her lists out!
Get together with your kids and brainstorm ideas about what they would like to do this summer: bike rides, smores in the back yard, train ride, make your own ice cream, etc. The idea is to create a list of things to look forward to, not forget about those things you intended to do when summer rolls around, and have some fun ideas on hand.
I have made our list. Since my little house guest is only 3 and can’t read, I added pictures to give him a visual. This will be a great reminder of the things I want to do this summer. Sure some of the things like the beach, Elk’s Pool, and Concerts in the Park are obvious, but it’s still fun to check it off the list.

Ari-blove it! I started this tradition last year with Turner making a list of things and places to to visit and do. I also started a photo journal of the list so he could look back and see what he did and chat about it. We have started our list for this year and Kendall (3) has added her items too and Turner wants to journal along with photographing his list. I love this idea and hope other families do to-a lifetime of memories to look back on. Thank you for the inspiration.
